So it’s time for this year’s AGM!
You might be new to UoGSU or haven’t attended one before. We’ve put together some common questions and answers so you can know what to expect from this year’s AGM!
What does AGM stand for?
It’s stands for Annual General Meeting.
What is an AGM?
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is a meeting that happens every year where you can get the full picture of what impact we've made at the your SU.
What happens at an AGM?
Among other things, you'll hear about how the SU spends money, an update on how the SU and your elected Full-Time Officers have been making the students' voice heard by the University, and have the chance to put any questions to the Full Time officers and vote on motions.
Why is an AGM important?
It is important as it allows students to get a first-hand insight into the operations of the SU and it allows the SU to be transparent with the students. The AGM is an opportunity for you to have your say on the direction of the Students’ Union.
You get the opportunity to look at the work of elected officers and to ensure that they are fulfilling the promises they made during their election campaign.
What is a motion?
A motion is a way to have your say in what important change needs to happen in the SU and the University. So it's your chance to put forward ideas that you would like to see implemented, either in the SU or across the university, that you think will make your student world a better place.
